- This is a description of a provisional solution to the problem
- of printing the Danish/Norwegian o-slash on HP LJIII and
- solicitation of further help.
- Guided by Tom Backer-Johnsen's advice, I inserted in HP3.PRN
- sequences that tell the printer to use the Danish/Norwegian
- PCSYMBOL SET. I did this by replacing "10U" with "11U" in all
- FO: tables, more specifically in the second line starting (originally)
- "FO<ESC(10U". Now, ASCII 155 and 157 print as lower and uppercase
- o-slash, instead of cents and yens. This suits me fine as I don't
- use that kind of money so much.
- However, now I'm using the D/N symbol set all the time.
- It would be neater to change to that set just for the one character
- and return to the more standard one. I tried to achieve this by
- leaving the FO-tables intact and telling in the substitution table
- (SU: PCSYMBOL) that ASCII 155 should be sent to printer as the
- sequence "USE D/N SYMBOL SET", "PRINT ASCII 155", "USE THE PCSYMBOL SET".
- Couldn't make it work. It printed (most of) the actual command
- sequence ("(11U<yen>(10U", or something) instead of heeding it.
- Either I did something wrong or this cannot be done. Would be
- grateful of hints. I still haven't heard anything from NBI who
- said they would send something.
- ("<yen>" above should be "<cent>").
