- Thanks to Tony Woozley for guiding me to the line in .hlp that set NW=0
- and causes directory listings to disappear as soon as you use them. Setting
- it to 1 fixed the problem.
-
- Looking around while there I found what makes ESC cause a file to vanish as
- well. The keyboard function OV with the parameter wt sets the ESC key to
- do an ABandon w/out warning. (You can try it by calling a file,
- then: F9 func OV F10 and press the two letters wt (you won't see
- them). Do whatever you want to alter the file, press ESC, and it's gone.)
- From what I can tell with minimal experimenting, it only happens once with
- each invocation, but they do stack. If you press F1 with a directory on
- screen, you somehow stack 2, so that if you press ESC to get rid of the menu,
- one is left. The function seems to be important for clearing Help windows.
