- Not wanting to miss out on this fun (and noting that one could get
- back to "normality" from this mess!), I gave this a try. Hoochee wawa!
- I got black background with light red foreground for NM, but my Lingua
- characters were chartreuse fg and mauve bg! Other modes were equally,
- umm, creative! CTL + ESC did indeed land me back in my mundane normal
- set-up. Very curious!
-
- I don't know what that irritating cursor business is about. I will
- have to have Bob Kelly give me a demonstration! Is this a pain that
- afflicts only those who like to work with pg-line mode (SHF-F10)? I'm
- a SHF-F9 type myself.
-
- Oh and one more thing!! Is anyone having trouble saving a default
- symbol set? I have the ATI Basic Chutney card in my home machine, and
- so I get a wider range of choices than at work (in F1 -> Edit ->
- Characters [or Alphabets? I can never remember!] -> choice of sets). I
- want to have ATI set A as my default (Roman+/Heb/Grk/Math+) as this is
- the one that seems to give the nice "smart quotes". Each time it says
- it has saved it to the NBCUSTOM.SET, but THIS IS A LIE!! I had a look
- at that file, but there are way too many mnemonics in it for me. So,
- any suggestions? (It could be that some message flashes past on the
- screen between depressing F10 to make my choice and seeing the "Done"
- message come up, but of this I am not sure.)
-
- It's pretty dark and pretty cold as the witching hour approaches in
- Waterloo. Now, should I figure that the creative juices have dried up
- for the night? or get in a few more hours of "work"? Hmmmm....
-
