Paul Chandler writes  that NB will not print his print job over
a network until he has closed down the program.  This is a common
DOS program problem with a solution.
NB like many other programs does not indicate that it has finished
talking to the device when it has finished printing.
When NB is shut down it then releases the device.  The network
gets this message as a completion of the print job and despools the
print file.  Of course when the printer is directly attached to the
PC this is not an issue.
The way to get around this problem is to have the network interpret
inactivity as the end of a print job.
On our net I have things set up so that inactivity of ten seconds
indicates the end of a print job.  With this implimented NB does
just fine.  This may not work when downloading fonts, if there is
a pause.  With some other programs which download fonts and then
think for more than ten seconds there can be problems.
In that case a timeout of more than 10 seconds would be called for.
I don't know if this would be relevant for Lingua users.
I use plain NB so I haven't had to deal with this issue in any
other flavour.
