- Ever since someone suggested trying shorter textbase names, I've been just
- about 100% successful in building Orbis TB's regardless of what the default
- directory at starting point. It seems a little diecy at one point, because it
- always goes through what seemslike a complete re-booting of NB, which results
- in running NBSTART. But basically it works; I've now got two trial TB's
- located in the D:\NB\ORBIS directory, and can call up and search either of
- them, bring up the Search Stack, etc. I've even tried building one fairly
- large one, i.e. all the files in one directory, and it worked OK. However,
- it's probably not really large in the perspective of the scholars engaged in
- extensive literature research projects.
-
- Wish I could report similar success in trying to get NBI to come up with
- fully functioning printer drivers for my NEC P2200 and P3200. All they ask is
- that you put yourself under house arrest (with a potty close at hand or a phone
- and a computer in the john) for several days until you call... if you can
- manage that, they'll undoubtedly fix it... probably build the printer driver
- line by line over the phone... NUTS!
