- More and more things are working properly in NB4+Lingua+Ibid for me--the odd
- thing is that some things seem to have cured themselves without my ever
- finding out why they were going wrong. The thing seems to have a mind of its
- own. (Though actually reading, very carefully, the documentation we _did_ get
- certainly helped; amazing how much information has been squeezed into that
- microscopic quick reference guide. My optometrist is going to love NBI.)
-
- However, there are still some things that seem wrong and others just erratic.
- 1) Though Lingua characters work fine in ordinary text and in printing, they
- appear as blanks in help screens and menus. E.g., the F6-F1 menu of the
- diacritical mnemonics is a table of little blank rectangles for me. (I have
- an EGA card and a mono monitor.)
- 2)Ibid cannot look up authors or titles with diacriticals, e.g. an umlaut. I
- have lots of those, and there was no problem in 3.1. When called up by
- finding the ref. number, the files appear to be normal.
- 3)Like Paul Chandler, I discover that a small black hole somewhere seems
- occasionally (so far haven't discovered the regularities) absorbs a large
- chunk of memory. It does NOT show up on func me.
- 4) The multiple copies option on CTRL+Print Screen doesn't work. When
- invoked, it prints one copy, then declares "Done Printing." It means, "for
- the night, buster," and only a hot boot will enable it to print anything else.
-
- These are the most consistent of the peculiarities I've noticed. Are they
- unique to my machine or files, or have I mucked something up (again)? Or has
- anyone else discovered anything similar?
