- I have to hop in on this. I've been teaching a technical writing class
- in which I force students as a first step to hand me a draft in which they
- give as much information as they can visually -- no words at all. I stress
- that they consider any item visually before they do verbally. It's one
- of my most successful attempts, and one the students like. We don't
- consider inductive vs deductive -- just the communicative value of
- visuals. They can see that. With hypertext or hypermedia, the
- possibilities multiply exponentially. Ron Shook
