  16.      A tall order, given who we're talking about when we talk
  17. about "universities."  We're beginning such a rethinking here,
  18. at a small place supposedly dedicated to undergraduate teaching,
  19. and I'm continually astonished at the proportion of the faculty
  20. who don't believe there IS such a thing as curriculum.  There's
  21. content, and you open their heads and dump it in.
  22.      We're lucky to have some administrators that sound like
  23. David Schwalm, and some faculty members who believe student
  24. matter . . . but it's hard slogging.
