- I think that to overspecialize the patron access to reference librarians and

- bility of the highest order. Who is likely to make these appointments? And
- who is NOT likely to make them? Let's get realistic here. This scheme, seems
- to be a way of lowering the contact hours for prof. librarians (and there-
- by reducing their nos.??) and pasting it over with talk of "in depth" service.
- I say all this without having read the article and will certainly do so -- ie.
