  30. The Department of Library Science is seeking applicants for a tenure-track
  31. teaching and research position at the assistant or associate professor
  32. level.  We are looking for a faculty member who can teach and direct
  33. doctoral research in a range of subjects and will complement and enhance
  34. the programs and directions of the School in one or more of the following
  35. areas:
  36.  
  37.            information resources and retrieval
  38.            information policy
  39.            organization of information
  40.            management
  41.            information technology
  42.            communication
  43.            archives and book arts
  44.  
  45. Minimum qualifications include an earned doctorate by starting date,
  46. demonstrated experience or strong potential for excellence in teaching,
  47. interest and competence in research and knowledge of professional
  48. practice.  An MLS from an accredited library program is desirable and
  49. interdisciplinarity will be an asset.

  51. The University of Pittsburgh offers a high level of staff and

  54. body.  The School of Library and Information Science is one of the largest

  58. Salary range $35,000 - $45,000, depending upon experience and
  59. qualifications.  Preferred starting date is September, 1993.  Please send
