  15. At the University of Hawaii we are creating journal tables of contents
  16. databases using the CARL system.  One that already exists is the
  17. Hawaiian/Pacific UnCover Database available as menu item #44.  We have also
  18. begun a tables of contents database for journals from and about Asia.  The
  19. main criteria is that it have an English language table of contents. It may
  20. also have one in the vernacular language and the articles may be entirely in
  21. the vernacular.

  23. The Pacific and Asia are our two major areas of focus and there has been such
  24. a void of indexes available in those areas.  Gary Macmillian, Associate
  25. University Librarian for our technical services (Processing Operations and
  26. Automation) initiated and coordinates the inputting for the two databbases.
  27. The Asia titles will eventually merge into the CARL UnCover database that
  28. originates out of Denver.  The Hawaiian/Pacific database will remain a unique
  29. database available only via UH.
