- Hello, I have a couple of questions about ES9000's.
-
- 1. Do many sites use PR/SM to run MVS/ESA and AIX together?
-
- 2. What is the AIX that runs on these machines, is it AIX/ESA?
-
- 3. We currently run VM/XA 2.1 on a IBM 4381 R24. These users
- would be moved to AIX, anyone done this? How painful is it?
- We have mostly SAS/SPSS users with lots of tapes, who like lots
- of DASD. A batch facility would also be needed.
-
- 4. Are there any advantages to keeping VM in the picture? Would
- this allow more flexible partitioning or make it easier to
- migrate? We could run AIX/ESA machines as guests of VM/ESA.
- (I guess my VM bias is showing on this one ;)
-
- Thanks for any comments. T.S.
