- Greetings,
-
- Does the transparent write introducer sequence (x'115D7F110000') have to
- be at the beginning of the datastream? A programmer is trying to setup a
- printer using special hex codes, and the application he is using
- insists in putting a x'0C15151515' (EBCDIC form feed followed by four line
- feeds) ahead of the transparent write introduced sequence (which is the
- first thing in the program output buffer. The manual says "A transparent
- mode request introducer sequence at the beginning of a datastream causes
- the remaining data to be transmitted to the ASCII device "as is" ". The
- manual does not state what (if anything) happens if this introducer is
- encountered in the middle of the data stream.
-
- Any suggestions/comments/experiences would be appreciated.
- - Frank
