  17.      I was responding to Ishbel's comment that lipreading is "very
  18. chance-oriented." I said that this description was too extreme.
  19.      However, neither am I claiming the other extreme. I am not saying
  20. chance does not play a part.
  21.      While other factors have much more influence on the outcome than does
  22. chance, there is *some* chance involved.
