- Gallaudet is funded by Congress (and your local Vocational
- Rehabilitation), so I assume it is considered a public university...
- however, with it's limitations on who is admitted and the process by
- which they are admitted, it seems like a private university. I believe
- the deafness requirement is at least a 70-75 dB loss in the better ear,
- unaided....that would exclude about 97% of the population, wouldn't you
- think? Interestingly enough, one thing that is not required here is the
- ability to perform at the college level academically. We seem to have
- our entrance priorities backwards, huh?
