- At Marquette University, we will NOT check out books without IDs. This also
- applies to Faculty. We are on the Innopac system and before we were, faculty
- signed for there books. Theoretically, they were to show their ID cards (which
- at the time had no pictures) but the "regulars" rarely did and were often
- put out when asked for one by a Student Assistant who failed to
- "recognize" him or her. It was a pleasant surprise therefore when we encoun
- encountered little or no opposition to the use of the new ID cards with their
- barcodes and pictures.
- We will offer to hold books for a day or two for those who forget their IDS.
- I might add that MU has restricted access which requires an ID for admit-
- tance which has, no doubt, aided the library in its no-ID-no-book
- policy.
- On the question of Class Reserves, ILL material or rented videotapes from
- Blockbuster (or wherever) will NOT be placed on Reserve. This also applies
- to books checked out from other libraries. The library also assumes no
- responsibility for damage to personal items placed on Class Reserves.
