  12. While we're on the topic, does anyone know of currently existing
  13. IBM-compatible desktop computers that include the "sleep-mode"
  14. capability that has begun to appear on portable machines?
  15. Actual brands/sources would be appreciated.

  17. I know the EPA currently has a project working with engineers
  18. from Sun, Mac, and IBM (maybe Intel, and others too -- I have forgotten
  19. the source as I have seen brief mentions of it in a few places.)
  20. to incorporate these modes into the next generation of computing.

  22. There is a brief "article" in today's NYT advertising supplement
  23. _The Fall 1992 Review of Computers_ on _Save on PC Energy Consumption_
  24. Doesn't say a whole lot, but brings up the issues of computer energy
  25. use.
