- Well, as we've already pointed out, they're aren't enough American demos
- to fill a top 10 chart! Therefore, I'd also suggest that only Americans
- should be voting. The idea is to INCREASE the number of demos from the
- states, and Canada.
- (Hypothetically or maybe pethetically :) the first couple of issues would
- obviously get a poor reponse in the number of voters, however, there are
- a number of BBS's that should be able to help in this effort. I know of
- one, anyway (soon 2 B - Megawatts BBS HQ :). Of course we can also grab a
- ton of votes over internet too (such as mailing vote@megawatts.async.vt.edu
- PURELY for example(!)).
-
- Furthermore, what classifies an American demo? I cannot name one 100%
- American-made demo, and most Megawatts productions are/will be around 50%
- contributions from U.S./Europe. Not many will be interested if you cut
- off half of their team to be considered an American demo; for now anyway,
- American will have to be defined as somewhat-American :^\
-
- Why would we limit ourselves to textfiles? I have nothing less in mind than
- a virtual clone of the EuroChart. I think the first few issues must be created
- by the groups/individuals who are most interested. Then if we succeed
- in helping the American scene as much as the EC did the Euro-scene, a
- single group takes over. We all know that most of the work is the vote-
- counting, editing, and coming up with something to say. I think, for lack
- of material, it'd end up looking more like a real disk-mag than the EC.
-
- I also think it will end up a NON-Euro Chart rather than an American Chart
- because hopefully (as seen), Canda and Australia want in on the action.
- It sounds like Epsilon's Obelisk is strictly a mag, not counting it out,
- but I think we need full collaboration from the (few) existing non-Euro
- groups.

- Where 6 and 7 will take a while to fill up. I'd be willing to bet though
- that there are a lot of small, never heard from groups that just haven't
- had enough motivation to actually create anything. Perhaps the AC will
- help to force these guys out of the woodwork. Surely most of them do not
- have internet access.
- You might want to have a separate top-ten American coders, musicians, and
- artists and most probably a top-ten American BBS's. There are a lot of
- American boards representing a lot of euro-groups. To bad there's not as
- many american demo-creators.
-
- I think you'd see a big difference in a non-euro-chart, because demos don't
- get overseas nearly as fast. Though I am an avid collector of demos and a
- fan of the creative groups, it has been impossible to find some of the
- EuroChart top 10's! It's sometimes been impossible to find the latest
- Eurochart! ;P

-
- A subliminal request for help. How about some input from the other guys
- who helped start this discussion. Maruku has lost his net access temporarily.
- I guess I am filling in for him(?) :)
