- Well as a Northwestern graduate and MIT grad student, I shall try my hands at

- >Now, as to the questions asked of the models by Mademoiselle
- >magazine, here they are:
- >
- >1) What are the names of the two airports in Paris?
-
- They are Orly and de Gaulle.
-
- >2) What is the name of the square in front of the big church
- >in the center of Milan?
-
- I have no idea.
-
- >3) What is the French word for shoe?
-
- C'est une chaussere. (It is une chaussere.)
-
- >4) Which architect designed the new glass pyramids in front
- >of the Louvre in Paris?
-
- I don't know.
-
- >5) How many calories are in a banana?
-
- I would assume about 20-30 calories.
-
- >6) Who is the designer behind the COMME des GARCONS label?
- >The Perry Ellis label? The Chanel label?
-
- I don't have the money for it to matter.
-
- >7) Math question: If you earn $5,000 in one day and only pay
- >your agency 10 percent, how much money will you receive
- >before taxes?
-
- It would be $4,500 for the model, $500 for the agent.
-
- >8) What color is ecru? (Claudia Schiffer answered with,
- >"Broken white? I'm just guessing, wondering if it's the same
- >in English as it is in French, which is derived from a word
- >in Latin.")
-
- It is a light tan like beige.
-
- >9) Who is Anna Wintour?
-
- I have no idea.
-
- >10) Which poet said, "Beauty is Truth, Truth Beauty"?
-
- The Romantic poet Keats wrote this in "Ode on a Grecian Urn."
-
- >
- >According to the article Elle came in first, the college
- >post-graduates last.

- All this proves is that I haven't been to Milan or the Louvre to know those
- questions but I suspect that Elle has no idea what quantum electrodynamics is,
- either. Maybe I should write up a physics exam and see how the models would
- do versus me. After all, it would only be slightly more skewed than this one.
