- I believe there is, too...and I'm a Libertarian. I do denounce Social Secu-
- rity, though. I'm 27 years old. I have paid close to $20,000 in FICA taxes
- in my life, as well as the $20,000 that my employer didn't pay directly to me.
- I would gladly forfeit every penny of it if I didn't have to pay into the
- system anymore.

- The baby boomers were born from 1946 to 1964 (so they say). I was born in
- 1965. After all the baby boomers retire, will there be much left for me? We
- have seen taxes go from 1% to 2% to 7.65%. As more people retire and fewer
- enter the workforce, that will approach 11% by the year 2020 just to keep
- the current level of benefits. I'm worried about that.
-
- We do need to find ways to *combine* government service and market forces. Un-
- like hard-core Libertarians, I don't believe complete privatization is the
- answer. We do need to introduce market principles (and ACCOUNTABILITY) in the
- more inefficient government bureaucracies. I wish I knew how we could do that.
