- After listening to Cube's new one, I must say its totally dope! Of couse,
- everybody's heard "Wicked" but the rest of the new shit is phat too. There
- are a total of 16 tracks but a couple are little skits, mostly with news media
- quotes, like Oprah and shit. I've only listened to it twice but I definitely
- like it. Some of the dope tracks are "The Predator" with the familiar "I'll
- be back" Arnold Schwarzenegger sample, "Gangtsa Fairytale Pt 2," a continuation
- of the track that appeared on _AmeriKKKa's_ "Today Was a Good Day" which is a
- mellow track about Cube just chilling in South Central, and "Dirty Mack."
- Cube also begins a song with the rhyme from Get the Fist:
-
- Would you believe not guilty?
- the filthy devils tried to kill me
- when the news gets to the hood. . .
-
- in "Tear this Mutherfucker Up." I forget the name of the first track but its
- got this crazy sample of Queen's "We Will Rock You."
-
- Production is done by the Lench mob (Ice Cube, Dj Pooh, Bobcat, & Rashad), DJ
- Muggs, Mr. Woody (who did some production on _Death Certificate_) and somebody
- named Torcha Chamba, who produced "Wicked." Subject matter is typical Cube,
- but more like _AmeriKKKa's. ._ and the Death Side of _Death Certificate_ rather
- than Nation of Islam teachings. I recall a line where he said he wasn't down with
- 5% Nation, too. Of course, the devil and anti-cop lyrics are in there too,
- like with "Who Got the Camera?" about police brutality. And Cube must be down
- with Das Efx because he samples "East Coast" and "Looseys" and they appear on a
- dope song called "Check yo Self." Cube also answers his critics about his
- being anti-semitic and sexist by simply saying "Fuck 'em." The beats are phat
- and Dj Muggs adds that Cypress Hill funky guitar attitude in there, too.
-
- So for everyone else still waiting for the album to drop, you won't be
- disappointed. The shit is too dope! The alt.rap readers who live in the Boston
- area can get the album at Skippy White's in Cambridge. Go get it.
