  14. I don't mean to reactivate a thread that was going fairly strong but is now
  15. fairly over and done with, but I thought I could add a little knowledge/
  16. experience.  Minister Khalid Abdul Muhammed of the NOI spoke on campus this 
  17. week and I got the chance to go see him.  For those who don't know the name, 
  18. he's basically Farrakhan's national spokesman...He's been sampled on PE (the
  19. voice on Takes a Nation... who says "Have you forgotten that once we were 
  20. brought here, we were robbed..."), Ice Cube ("Stay True to the Game") and X-
  21. Clan.  He called whites in the audience "devils" and "crackers" to their 
  22. faces and even caused many people to get up and leave.  There was a big
  23. protest before hand as well...Anyway, he had amazing public speaking skills, 
  24. and although I think NOI's losing support nationally, he got a lot that night.
  25. But what did he have to say underneath all of the shocking claims of black
  26. supremacy?  In my opinion, he made whites in the audience think (as well as
  27. blacks), but he also threatened them.  He made whites feel the same fear, 
  28. although on a much smaller scale, that blacks feel everyday because of white
  29. America.  Blacks always have elements of white society thrust in their faces,
  30. and Muhammed shoved elements of black society into the face of every white 
  31. person in attendance.  There's obviously a lot of controversy about what he
  32. had to say in terms of anti-semitism and prejudice, but people need to be able
  33. to hear his underlying message.  This is still a little unclear in my mind, 
  34. but he wanted whites to school their ancestors...Now, that's good, but there's 
  35. a lot of negativity and anger in NOI.  He shot down questions along the lines
  36. of, "Well, I'm white and neither I nor my parents are racist, so why do you
  37. still call me the devil?"  Has anyone out their heard a rep. from NOI speak?
  38. I'd like to hear more info from others who have first-hand experiences on the
  39. subject, or anyone who can add a new perspective...
