- Hmmm. I tend to agree. This is the first time I've backed a winner myself,
- since I wasn't old enough to vote until '82, and even then I had to wait two
- years to back a presidential wanna-be.

- The thing about having had Reagan/Bush in office for 12 years, is that it's
- sort of like picking at a scab for a really long time. Even if Clinton
- turns out to be as much of a schmuck as the GOP prez's we've had (which I
- find tough to fathom, but anything is possible), he'll be a *different*
- schmuck. Therefore, the scab that the executive branch has been playing
- with since '80 will have a chance to heal. Of course, we'll likely have
- new wounds by the end of the term, but hopefully this one'll start to
- heal before it gets gangrenous.
