  24. Hmmm.  I tend to agree.  This is the first time I've backed a winner myself,
  25. since I wasn't old enough to vote until '82, and even then I had to wait two
  26. years to back a presidential wanna-be.

  28. The thing about having had Reagan/Bush in office for 12 years, is that it's
  29. sort of like picking at a scab for a really long time.  Even if Clinton
  30. turns out to be as much of a schmuck as the GOP prez's we've had (which I
  31. find tough to fathom, but anything is possible), he'll be a *different*
  32. schmuck.  Therefore, the scab that the executive branch has been playing
  33. with since '80 will have a chance to heal.  Of course, we'll likely have
  34. new wounds by the end of the term, but hopefully this one'll start to
  35. heal before it gets gangrenous.

  37. Peeve:  Running a metaphor into the ground.  But sometimes it's like
  38. potato chips, you just can't stop....
