  23. Wait a sec, folks.  This is not *my* newsgroup.  Yes, I conducted the
  24. vote, and yes, I created alt.out-of-body and its predecessor alt.oobe,
  25. but that doesn't make them my newsgroups.  I am running a parallel
  26. mailing list, and I am trying to make suggestions that I hope will be
  27. helpful to some in conducting a methodical investigation of the OBE
  28. phenomenon, but I don't have any special rights or privileges.  I'm
  29. just trying to keep things reasonably tidy, but if someone wants to
  30. disagree with my notions of order, that's OK (and it wouldn't be the
  31. first time ;-).

  35. Well, I'm willing to take Tarzan's statement that he doesn't know
  36. anything about email addresses at face value.  It could even be that
  37. users of the system he's using doesn't permit email - but I don't see
  38. why that would be so.  As I said in a previous article, I've made
  39. some inquiries of the site administrator at Bell Northern Research,
  40. where Tarzan's account resides, and hope we can get the matter
  41. resolved soon.

  46. What do others feel about the idea of making the newsgroup moderated?
  47. (No - I don't want to be the moderator - I'm too busy with other things.)
  48. I don't know if an alt group can be made moderated - especially once it
  49. has been created as unmoderated.  I don't think we've seen a clear need
  50. demonstrated so far, though.

  54. Well, I think perhaps the sentence is a bit harsh, don't you, Bishop?
  55. It's not clear that Tarzan is intentionally hiding anything.  I'd just
  56. be happier if he could post articles without insisting on quoting the
  57. entire article he's responding to.  But maybe he doesn't know how to
  58. use a text editor, or maybe he has a crufty news system that doesn't
  59. have access to an editor (doubtful).  Let's not jump to conclusions.
