  12. Actually, there is no christian church, per se. It depends
  13. on which particular sect to which you belong. 
  14.  
  15. The Roman Catholic Church tends to frown on all kinds of
  16. such excercises. For example, meditation on the Bible,
  17. or a particular prayer, is okay, but meditation to 'blank
  18. the mind' would be bad because of the chance of demonic posession. 
  19. However, some sects, which don't believe in demonic
  20. posession in this case, would feel that this is just fine. 
  21. It's all a matter of theology, and if you can give me a little more
  22. background, I can probably recall the appropriate theology,
  23. so you can make a T.C. (theologically-correct) decision. More 
  24. appropriately, however, is that you should go and study your sect's
  25. theology, and see what it has to say, and decide for yourself.

  27. Your question is fairly base, but it underlies a vastly more important
  28. problem. There is a tremendous question you have to ask yourself before
  29. you embark on any serious study of 'mind expansion techniques',
  30. which is Do you believe that everything that your Church tells you
  31. is perfectly true...do you believe, for example, in
  32. the infalliability of the Pope and other theological leaders? 
  33. Do you honestly believe in hell? Do you believe you can go to this 
  34. hell because you experimented with Magick? 
  35.  
  36. Do you not classify, or are you as unsure as you seem,
  37. 'Mind Expansion Techniques' as magick? Do you feel that
  38. if you were to experiment with Mind Expansion Techniques
  39. that you will go to hell? Do you feel that the study/scientific
  40. inquiry of other religions will send you to hell? How about their 
  41. practice? Do you believe in God, the Father, Creator of
  42. Heaven and Earth, of All that is Seen and Unseen? Do you
  43. believe in Jesus Chris, Lord, through whom all good things come?
  44. Do you believe in the Communion of Saints, the Forgiveness of
  45. Sins, and Life Everlasting? Do these beliefs contradict,
  46. rule out, or otherwise perclude a study of magick, in any of
  47. it's forms?

  49. Would you really like to turn away from the Judeo-Christian
  50. conception of God, if just for a moment, just to see what would
  51. happen? Do you need a safety net, or simply someone to blame?

  53. Then blame me. I tell you that no matter what you do, you can always 
  54. recant. You can always ask forgiveness, and you will always
  55. recieve it. I tell you that you do no wrong when you follow your 
  56. feelings, your will...your conscience isn't there for nothing. I tell 
  57. you that there are many religions out there, and there is truth
  58. in all of them.

  60. I tell you that beyond the veil which lines the Sanctum Sanctorum 
  61. lies knowledge, and perhaps enlightenment. I tell you Ignorance is 
  62. Bliss, but Knowledge brings Joy.

  65. in mine own name. How can I do this but if I believe? I believe 
  66. in truth. I recanted my belief in the Roman Catholic God, and I now 
  67. see His truth. I am now closer to God than I have ever been.I was truly
  68. lost, and am found, blind but now sighted. Enlightenment is the key,
  69. Enlightenment which goes beyond knowledge, belief, wisdom. Initiation 
  70. brings Enlighenment, and True Initiation yeilds True Enlightenment.

  72. My goodness...I feel like saying 'Yea Verily'. I should stop
  73. taking myself so seriously. Basically, Do What Thou Will,
  74. and let not anybody say you nay. It makes things less complicated.

  82. Walked down a secluded lane. 
  83. He came across a perfect cherry-blossom, as yet unbloomed. 
  84. He picked it off the tree, and stamped it into the ground.
