- Hi,
- I am running lucid emacs 19.3 on an i486 under Mach 3.0. Autosaving
- of buffers associated with files works just file; however when it tries
- to save a buffer not associated with a file it goes into some sort of
- infinite loop (sits there and eats major amounts of CPU cycles and never
- comes back). An easy way to duplicate this problem is to just enable
- auto-save on *scratch* and start typing random garbage at it. Eval'ing
- buffer-auto-save-file-name in the buffer yields a reasonable-looking
- filename....
-
- I'm wondering if I'm the only one who has this problem (i.e. it's something
- specific to my setup) or if others have experienced the same thing. Please
- let me know if you have any suggestions as to what might be wrong... at this
- point I know it's dying someplace in auto_save_1, but I haven't decided
- where exactly...
-
- Many thanks,
-
- -Arup Mukherjee
