  30.    The bugs that I have had both have had the same kind of tank (as you 
  31.    described) but one had a hose that screwed on the lid and then screwed
  32.    into the spare tire.  It is my guess that both of you are correct.

  34.    We shouldn't get into VW hacks, it would provide for way too much

  37.    CommonVWHack:  Rigging the accelerator cable to get you home when the
  38.       cable breaks.  The last time it broke I hit the hardware store and
  39.       just clamped the two ends of the wire together. A friend of mine said
  40.       he used to carry around kite string for such an occasion.  Just run
  41.       it out the window and around back and you are set to go.

  43.    BetterVWHack:  Buying an extra accelerator cable to keep in the car so
  44.       you can avoid the above.
