  36. Your _personal_ money?!??  NO WAY!  I do remember the one or two negative
  37. things about Norway - the 50-70% income taxes (even more confiscatory
  38. than the US!).  (BTW, Kelly Freas - WIZARD's poster artist - actually KNEW
  39. the woman who created the first US 1040 income tax form, back in 1913.
  40. And that's Another Story...)  I can't accept private donations.  But...
  41. There's the Hollywood Solution:  OPM (ie - "other peoples' money").

  43. There are several festivals occurring in Scandinavia, around the same
  44. time.  I believe the Norwegian Filmfest is being held in Haugesund (only
  45. a few inches from Bergen, on this map)(about 6cm) - though I heard the
  46. Festival Director, Gunnar Lovvik, is difficult to reach, and is only
  47. interested in *Famous (and expensive) $tars*.  The Norway National Sci-Fi
  48. Con is in Oslo, August 6th (93) - I had a great time in 1991, and met you
  49. guys, and remet Larry Niven (-hey, did Johannes & Heidi & Kjetil ever nab
  50. the con-thief?).  And the Swedish National Sci-Fi Con in Stockholm, is
  51. just a week later, on the 14th.  And Helsinki's National Con on the 13th.
  52. (...mm, the Gulf doesn't look too wide, maybe if I wear the Wiz-shoes,
  53. and run *real fast*...)

  55. Anyway, SAS roundtrip split 3 ways (or more) would be a gentler and
  56. kinder manner of reducing expenses.
