  16. I post this article in order to get a solution not a flame.
  17. I used an old LIGHTSPEEDTECH MNP4 modem for my BBS, but
  18. last week I got a Hyundai 2404-M MNP5 modem.
  19. My BBS line is the same as my normal phone line because
  20. I do not get a new telephon number. So I added a watch 
  21. program, that counts the RING strings from the modem and
  22. if the counter is less enough the call in the next minute
  23. will be answered. So I must not use autoanswering.
  24. I use the following INIT string:
  25.   ATB0E1V1X4&M1\N3%C1\L0\J0\V0S0=0
  26.  
  27. My older modem works well (with an other -non MNP5- string),
  28. but my new modem never says RING. If I have a look at the modem
  29. lights, I notice the flashing of the OH (on/off-hook) LED, but
  30. not the flashing of the TD (transmit data) LED. 
  31.   What can I do ?
