- We carry a FULL *usenet* complement, and the majority of the alt
- groups (save about two dozen, I guess). Usenet != alt, but this
- is a case for the semantiticians.
-
- Again. While we do not carry the groups on local drives, they ARE
- available to anyone who wants them, via remote NNTP newsservers.
- Our shell customers have access to all the nooks and crannies of the
- Internet as well as ULTRIX's box of software tools and a varied
- collection of news and mail applications.
-
- Folks that know me and the way I have operated public access systems
- know that I am opposed to censorship in any form. If I were to be
- censoring newsgroups, I definitely would not make even the means
- to access them remotely available.
-
- For the record, we do not carry alt.sex or alt.binaries groups on
- local drives. These groups are avaiable via trn-nntp, etc., by
- the simple setting of an environment variable. Those that have
- aksed have received this information. Out of all of our users,
- only three have asked 'how-to'. It's not really an issue for us.
