- Hello VMS specialists,
-
- I didn't find an answer on this one in the FAQ lists of comp.os.vms or
- vmsnet.networks.tcp-ip.ucx, nor does the UCX documentation say anything about
- it.
-
- We're running a VAX-cluster (MV II, 2000, 3200, 3600) here under VMS V5.5,
- using UCX 1.3 for communication with UN*X machines and PCs.
- When someone logs in via telnet or rlogin, our login screen is displayed
- on his (or her) terminal and the usual username/password prompt appears.
- Every now and then, however, we observe the case that everybody getting
- connected to a specific terminal device (today it is TNA68:) does NOT
- receive the login prompt. With PHY_IO priv, I can still write lines to the
- screen affected, but nobody can login when they get connected to this
- device.
- Comparing information on different TNAs (most of them are still ok),
- I found no difference with SHOW DEVICE/FULL TNA68:, SHOW TERMINAL TNA68:
- (the latter command closes the TCP connection when I issue it from a
- priviledged account). The only difference was visible in UCX:
- UCX> sh dev bg1310/full ! this one belongs to TNA68:
- gives a line saying
- Options: None
- and
- UCX> sh dev bg1244/full ! this one is ok
- says
- Options: OOBINLINE
- .
- Now for the questions:
- Is there a way to set the option OOBINLINE manually?
- Can I delete a TNA device? These devices disappear automatically after a
- certain time, but as users are complaining, I'd like to speed up this
- process.
-
- Thanks for your patience in reading this stuff, please e-mail the answers
- directly to me, I'll summarize the answers.
