- These occur when a message is partially written to the PMDF queue. This
- is usually attributable to a system failure during the writing process.
- In this particular case a system failure is very likely the culprit; there
- have been a bunch of power failures at the Claremont Colleges
- lately.

- We'll look into having a more elaborate message in the future. No promises;
- this is detected in a heavily used inner loop and it is extremely difficult
- to add much functionality there.
