- North Carolina Technological Information Study Available In Info
-
- In October 1991, the North Carolina Information Technology Commission
- requested Governor Martin appoint a task force to study public access
- issues associated with sharing of electronic information. Governor Martin
- appointed Dr. Earl Mac Cormac to conduct the study and prepare a report
- and recommendations. The report prepared by Dr. Mac Cormac with the
- assistance of M. Jane Bolin is available in the UNC-CH campus-wide
- information system, Info. From Info's main menu, select item #7,
- "Publications;" then item #3, "Other publications; " and then item #3.
-
- Topics covered in the report include "Personal Freedom Versus Freedom to
- Access," "Costs of Access to Public Information," "Commercial Requests for
- Information," "Drafts and Working Papers," and "Archives." The report is
- presented via a two-screen menu. The appendices were copied from
- hardcopies and are not included in Info; however, two letters presenting
- comments and observations of the North Carolina Press Association are
- included.
