  14. i am presently doing research in the field of trying to understand 
  15. the movement of contaminants below the surface of the earth. the 
  16. inherent problem in this field is trying to characterize the
  17. heterogeneous nature of the subsurface of the earth. it seems some
  18. work has been done in trying to characterize such properties in other 
  19. fields.
  20. i would appreciate if anyone could send me informations regarding 
  21. work done in this field or any related field. the key is trying to 
  22. understand the variability in properties at a large scale that 
  23. could be self similar in nature.
