- I think the best reference is the JANAF Tables. You can find them
- in any engineering library. These are tables and you probably you
- have to interpolate. I am sure you can find a program that calculates
- JANAF properties. I am aware of a thermodynamic equilibrium package
- called STANJAN developed by Prof. Reynolds at Stanford. I am not sure
- if it will be of help to model flow since it only deals with equilibrium
- type problems.
-
- Another point, the heat of formation of any *element* in its standard
- state is ZERO (as in O2, N2, H2, etc..). Generally the enthalpy of an
- ideal gas is given by :
-
- Ht(T) = Hf(To) + [H(T) - H(To)]
-
- where Ht(T) = Total enthalpy at any temp T
- Hf(To) = Heat of formation as reference temp (usually 298 K)
- [H(T) - H(To)] = Sensible enthalpy due to temp difference
-
- In JANAF you'll find extensive tables for Hf(To) and [H(T) - H(To)] for
- almost any species.
-
- I hope this helps.
