- I am driving a 1980 Olds Delta 88 and I started having problems
- with the winshield wipers last night. All of a sudden they froze in the up
- position on the winshield. About a half hour later, they came back down.
- When I tried to use them again, the wipers seemed to work stiffly at first
- and then quickly loosened up and began to work properly. However, now the
- washer pump runs whenever the wipers run and makes a loud clacking noise.
- The switch for the washer is working properly because when I press it I can
- hear the relay click under the hood. Has anyone seen this problem before?
- Will I need to replace the pump or is there some other fix I can do? Any
- info would be appreciated! There are still a LOT of these cars on the road
- so I thought it would be worth posting.
