  12.    I have an 83 Ranger with a 2.3 liter 4 cyl. engine. As of late it has been
  13. running somewhat rough when at idle speed (almost sounds like a cylinder is
  14. misfiring). This truck has recently had: carb tuning, new plugs, new wires,
  15. timing set, oil change, new air filter, and gas treatment and Gumout sprayed
  16. down the carb. Recently it started running rough at idle speed. I noticed that
  17. when the key is on but the engine is not running I can hear a soft "knock...
  18. knock...knock" noise coming from below and around the air filter somewhere. It
  19. has since started making this noise after I slow down and come into idle speed.
  20. Could this be the fuel pump not working properly when the engine is at idle?
  21. Ideas are welcome.
