- I'm pretty sure this car uses the Bosch Continuous Injection System
- (CIS). This sounds like a classic air leak problem, where air is
- getting into the induction system after the air flow sensor plate/fuel
- distributor, but ahead of the throttle body. The mechanic may have
- left a vacuum hose disconnected somewhere, or didn't quite get things
- put back together in an airtight way. This causes leaning of the fuel
- mixture, since the airflow sensor is only proportioning fuel to the
- amount of air coming past it from the air cleaner, and additional air
- after that stage in the form of leaks doesn't get additional fuel to
- account for it.
