- i have experienced this problem before. my car (85 civic) would
- hesitate under moderately heavy accelaration. i had to accelerate
- gradually. so i decided to do a tune up. the timing of the engine was
- alright but i found out that it was installed with platinium plugs by
- the previous owner. the old plugs themselves looked ok, but the part
- storeman said actually no platinium plugs were recommneded for this
- engine. so i bought new 'normal' plugs and put them in. and since then
- hesitation was history....
-
- my conclusion is that some engines do not work well with platinium
- plugs. check your plugs, wires and timing. hope it helps.
