  13.      Not much to changing brake pads. If you change shoes on drum brakes,
  14. one thing to remember is that there are two different types of shoe in 
  15. the box. One of each pair is called a leading shoe and is the one with
  16. a shorter piece of brake material on it. This shoe is placed closer to  
  17. the front of the car. If you get these the wrong way round, the brakes
  18. tend to bind.
  19.      It is also a good idea to push the pedal a couple of times to center
  20. the brake shoes before adjusting the rear brakes (with the drum on of course)
  21. after the shoes have been replaced.
