- Not much to changing brake pads. If you change shoes on drum brakes,
- one thing to remember is that there are two different types of shoe in
- the box. One of each pair is called a leading shoe and is the one with
- a shorter piece of brake material on it. This shoe is placed closer to
- the front of the car. If you get these the wrong way round, the brakes
- tend to bind.
- It is also a good idea to push the pedal a couple of times to center
- the brake shoes before adjusting the rear brakes (with the drum on of course)
- after the shoes have been replaced.
