  12.   Hi, here are a few questions about academic publishing...

  14. 1) What is a "position paper" for a conference, as opposed to a "research
  15.  paper"?  I suppose a research paper is novel research, but a position paper
  16.  would include what sort of discussion?

  18. 2) I am interested in publishing academic ideas in non academic journals,
  19.  to disseminate knowledge (specifically, about computation and information
  20.  theory)  How would I go about finding places to publish in?
