- Sorry if this is a FAQ: A friend of mine has been approached by
- certain individials who are promising her the "path to financial
- security." When she told me this, my alarm bells starting ringing!
- I don't know any details, but they will be giving another presentation
- at her house in a couple of weeks (which I plan to attend!). From
- what I can gather, it is some organization called "Amway", which
- I vaguely remember reading about on this net some time ago, (but I
- can't remember the details.)
-
- My feelings are that these "get rich quick" schemes are either:
-
- (i) some pyramid-type rip-off
-
- or (ii) working n thousand hours at home for a pittance of a
- commission,
-
- or (iii) both the above.
-
- Am I being overly skeptical? Can people in the know please tell
- me about Amway: how do they operate? (One word that they mentioned to
- her is "networking".) Are they respectable?
-
- I would greatly appreciate any info. I don't want her to get ripped
- off.
-
-
- Thanks,
-
- Mark Dunster.
