- Thanks for the many replies. I've been asked to post a follow-up
- to the "How do I combat fraud on my VISA" post.
-
- As usual, the net comes through with many good suggestions. THe
- most frequent was to WRITE to the credit card company; telephoning
- does not protect your rights. Also suggested was to file a complaint
- with the Better Business Bureau in the merchant's location as the
- complaint does not disappear until the complaintant removes it.
-
- Contacting the police and filing a lawsuit were also mentioned.
- Unfortunately, $100 really doesn't make it worth it. Instead, I've
- written to the credit card company, advised them I suspect the merchant
- forged my signature (the signatures were *not* identical), and asked
- them to handle it with the merchant.
-
- I'll let you know what their response is.
