  24. Nah, we (and the police) knew who he was, where he lived, and
  25. where he went to school.  Making him pay a quarter per phone
  26. call would have provided us with some emotional satisfaction
  27. at least.

  29. Besides, cutting off his phone service implies the phone company
  30. knows his number and address, which in turn implies that he
  31. could be apprehended at any time.
