  16. I just had my Pioneer CD player go out. I brought it in to be repaired
  17. and the repairman said that 4 years is the normal life expectancy of
  18. the laser unit. From the beginning it slowly gets weaker until it
  19. finally goes out and all CD players, cheap and expensive, have the
  20. same problem. 
  21. The story seems plausible but I just wanted to check with netland
  22. because there usually are people who know a great deal about these
  23. things.
