  11. Hi-
  12.   I successfully installed gcc-2.2.2 on a SUN about a month ago, and am
  13. trying to do the same thing on an SGI IRIS Indigo Elan running the realtively
  14. new R4000 (MIPS) CPU.  At the start I said "configure --target=mips-sgi".
  15. It gets through stage 1 OK, but when I try to make the stage 2 compiler,
  16. it chokes with a "gcc internal error."  I guess this is the first point at
  17. which it attempt to make objective-C and C++, so this may be the stumbling
  18. block.
  19.   Is my "configure" statement incorrect?  Is ther R4000 chip not supported?
  20. Have I missed some other subtlety?  Thanks in advance.
