- In my NB3.1, I have 314Kb left for files. This figure changes dynamically,
- of course, but it does form the base for running the program with various
- assignments with plenty of mem, including retrieving from the textbase,
- loading the mem-hogging AF font-set (i.e. IQ Eng. II cartridge), etc. These
- are the benefits of this list where settings forn STARTUP.INT were first
- suggested. The same settings in 4.0's NBSTART.INT, however, give me pretty
- much the same mem for text files (318Kb), but locks the keyboard when printing
- and prints to disk only. I have a D drive as a ram disk where the EDITORx.OVR
- files are placed. The following are the settings in in 3.1's STARTUP.INT, and
- I would appreciate any feedback on getting them amended to work with 4.0. One
- last point: I have an amended delta in STARTUP.INT that automatically amends
- the offset and page length settings when invoking the Academic Manual of Style
- (in my case, Chicago is the "bible") in order to override laser printers'
- default to wider left margins and longer bottom margins.
-
- The STARTUP.INT settings (in expanded mode):
- <<SV499,<<OF7,7>><<PL64,66,60>>>>
- BC load help
- BC savec 0
- BC lddict mainalph.dct
- BC unload 1,2,3,6,7
- BC C:
- BC cd C:\NB
- BC dir
- BC BC BC BC CC
-
- Thanks.
