- Unable to get through to NBI with their 800 number, I decided to
- copy the FREN.SPL and FRENCH.OV3 files from my NB3.1 installation
- directly into the NB4 directory. The result is that one can
- access the French speller from the Check menu, Dictionaries,
- French. But the FRENCH.OV3 is even less adequate than it was for
- vers. 3.1 to do the spell checking task for French. Interested
- persons will recall that we largely worked around the
- inadequacies of the French speller with NB3.1 by creating a
- special separation table to define the apostrophe and other
- characters as separators. That file does not work with vers. 4.
- If anyone has the FRENCH.OV3 file which the disk N.B. Speller F
- generates, I'd like to work out a way to get it from you via
- email of ftp.
