- While trying to figure out what to do, and get through to NBI, I would
- like to appeal to the list also for any advice about what happens to me
- when I try to install NB4 on my system (Everex 286 clone). After closely
- reading the (not too extensive) installation instructions, I decided to
- install NB4 in the NB directory while "having my version 3.0 Master Loading
- and Speller disk handy to insert when indicated". Everything chugs along
- fine (apparently) until I get the message "Extracting WORD.OVR". There is
- a brief flash of successful "done", then an annoying beep, and the error
- message "path not found", followed by another beep, and the instruction
- "Error: wrong output path: press [enter]". When I press enter, I go back
- to the beep followed by "path not found" and the merry-go-round repeats
- itself a total of five times. Then the blinking cursor hops up to the
- "action line" and the entire installation process just quits. So: now I
- no longer have NB 3.1, and I don't yet have NB 4.0. Somewhat frustrating.
-
- If any of you could take the time to give me some advice, I'd sure appreciate
- it. My address is AGNEWHL@GWUVM.BITNET.
