- To Michael Dick:
-
- I tried searching for a "sha2" (i.e., s+hacek, a+acute). I don't use
- F4, but the command line "se /string/" (noting that spaces can be the
- delimiters! a real time saver...). I first tried by simply entering
- the Lingua characters on the command line. No go; the characters
- didn't take. So, I tried defining my "sha2" in the text and copying it
- (with grey+) to the command line. When I hit Grey+, the block copied
- and the define was cancelled and, presto! the word was on the command
- line! I hit F10 and all worked perfectly. This is with a late beta, not
- the Final Release. So, my 30-second experiment seemed promising....
-
- And while we're talking about the bad ol' days, I bought my first
- computer in '84 (an Apple //c!). Before that I worked for a research
- project that had the latest and greatest: a DEC unix box with 5 dummy
- terminals running off it! The great thing about this lightning fast
- machine was that if you needed to scroll through a largish document,
- you knew that you had at least 20 minutes in which to grab a cup of
- coffee....
-
- Best wishes from sunny, crisp, autumnal Waterloo County (home of the
- World's Largest Oktoberfest Outside Of Muenchen).
- David.
